Welcome to Part 1 of 5 for our BIG reno project #ClientsOhDeer. If you missed the introduction to this one, make sure to check out the “before” video in a previous blog post.
Today we are excited to be unveiling what I would call the heart of this home – the kitchen, dining room, coffee bar, and pantry. Our clients love to cook and spend time in the kitchen, so re-working this part of their home was key. As we mentioned previously, we added lots of prep space and a large pantry (which features a pass-through door from the garage!). We also reconfigured the dining layout to make this space much more functional for the family. We also can’t overlook the awesome coffee bar and drink area that highlights the clients’ espresso machine and keeps all of their coffee and beverage essentials at hand.
Remember that we combined two very unique styles in this home. The husband’s love of rustic and the wife’s more modern style with a Bohemian flair. You’ll see these two design styles come together here. The wood tones used throughout the kitchen space and the beautiful live edge dining table are a nod to the rustic, while the pop of color and hints of brass lean more toward the wife’s preference.
Let’s take a look at this large, spacious, and hard-working part of this home…
We completely re-worked the layout of the kitchen to allow for more prep space.
The clients’ beverage area sits just off of the mudroom and adjacent to the kitchen and dining room. It turned a slightly awkward part of this space into a super functional one with its mini fridge and prep sink. It is the ideal location to grab a drink on the way in or a coffee on the way out.
Stay tuned for more of this beautiful home in the woods. As always, thanks for following along!
